ScriptBackupExt

What is it?
ScriptBackupExt is a utility to backup your Commence Item Detail Form scripts. If you dont know what they are, ScriptBackupExt is not for you :-)

Doesn't Controllex already offer a freebie that does just that?
Indeed, they do. However, Controllex is no more and there are a few things about their ScriptBackup tool I don't like in the first place:

• You have to type the full backup-path path manually. Yech.
• It ignores detail forms that have characters in them that cannot be used in filenames. Very annoying.
• It timestamps all it's output. Not practical if you have a report of some db with the scripts linked.

ScriptBackupExt does exactly the same as Controllex's ScriptBackup, but fixes the above glitches. Note that characters that cannot be used in a filename are not ignored but converted to underscores, I don't remember why I chose to do so.

I like it, where can I buy it?
Oops, sorry, I was dreaming. ScriptBackupExt is free of course ;-)

Requirements
You need to have the VB6 run-time libraries installed. If you have Windows 2000, or Office 2000, or Visual Studio 6, or any other MS 2000 or above product, you should be fine. I apologize for the inconvenience. I could have made a Setup util with VB6, but it is utterly screwed on my machine, and I do not like the idea of distributing a 2MB file in order to install a 36K util:-) Anyway, you are quite on your own when it comes to finding those damn libraries on the MS site, since I find it impossible to navigate.
